Zucchini Bread with Grandma

Jamie has been trashing her mother because I haven't updated the blog for awhile..so I'm catching up.

Joslin came to stay with me this afternoon while Jamie was tutoring a former student of hers. Joslin was pretty tired but we still managed to make 3 loaves of Zucchini bread.
She is reading the recipe upside down. (Maybe it works better that way!)

Stirring

Eating a bit of the raw zucchini.

Checking out the flavor. (I know that I shouldn't let her, but she only had a little)

Zoo!!

So many picture oportunities..so little time! Again, I'm only posting a few of the many shots that I took.

The Gorillas were very cooperative for pics.
Watching the Gorillas from behind the glass.

Fruit Bats

The 3 Amigos

I'm not sure what kind of flower this is, but I cropped out these 2 portions. I might frame them because they seem kind of cool.

Andrea and Phil at Cary's

My niece, Andrea, and her family visited her Grandma Cary in Lyons last week. Jamie, Joslin, and I went over to visit them and their kids, Abby and new little George. Abby was so patient with Joslin. It was great to see them.

Willow and Jeff's Wedding

The girls and I traveled to KC for Jeff and Willow's wedding. We had a really nice time. I am only posting 1 picture here. The rest can be found at my Picasa Site. http://picasaweb.google.com/Newtonneal832/WillowWedding#

Empty Nesters once again!

Our baby birds have left the nest. It was fun. Now I get to water the plant normally.

Toast to Charlie!

My Uncle Charlie died last week. Dad and I drove to Cortez, CO for the final salute to this wonderful man. For family members who would like to see my pictures of the event you can access them at

The 4th at Sterling

While Jim's folks were still with us, it became tradition to watch the annual parade from the parking in front of their house in Sterling. The family that purchased their home on Broadway have graciously allowed us to continue the tradition. Jim and I joined Jackie and family to view the festivities before heading to Kanopolis for a cookout and fireworks.
Awaitng the start!

Sibs..
Got to have the decorated bikes!

Yes, I like to play with black and white..

I just loved Dylan's expressions..
It is over for Maddie!

The 4th at Kanopolis

John's Dad and wife, Kathy, joined us at Kanopolis for the show.

Haley Softball

We haven't been as good this year attending all of Haley's games, but we have made it to a few of them. Joslin came along to cheer her cousin. Haley hasn't put any pictures up on her blog, so I just had to. In this game, Haley was playing shortstop and pitching.

Sorry, Haley, I just had to put this one on!

Haley's Friends at the Lake

Haley and friends had their annual trek to the lake. They had the inaugural night in the new tent, played foosball, softball, swam, tubed, skiied (sp), hiked, climbed and just were kids.
The Lion King?

The kids had a great time playing with my camera. Kenzie took this great picture of Oreo!
